OAKLAND (Alameda County) -- RREEF Real Estate will rename and rebrand 475 14th Street as 475 City Center. Charlie Allen and Anthony Shell of Cushman & Wakefield’s Oakland office, the building’s new leasing team, will oversee the new branding effort and the marketing of up to 50k sf that will be coming available in 2012. The project will offer two contiguous floors totaling 29.2k sf. 475 City Center is a 12-story, Class A office building that contains 180k sf of office space. The prestigious office tower is located in the heart of downtown Oakland’s City Center, offering direct access to the 12th Street / City Center BART Station and dozens of retail amenities. 475 City Center is home to the Oakland Chamber of Commerce and the Pacific Maritime Association.
MILPITAS (Santa Clara County) -- e2v Aerospace and Defense Inc. (e2v) purchased a 67.8k sf freestanding R&D building located at 765 Sycamore Dr. The company is relocating and expanding from Santa Clara and will utilize the entire building, which was fully vacant at the time of sale, for R&D/manufacturing. 765 Sycamore is a single-story building positioned between I-880 and McCarthy Blvd in the prestigious Oak Creek submarket of Milpitas. Christopher Shepherd, Tom Taylor and Todd Husak of CB Richard Ellis repped e2v. Kalil Jenab and Nick Lazzarini with Cassidy Turley represented the seller, D.R. Stephens.
SAN JOSE (Santa Clara County) -- GALLINA LLP, a full-service accounting firm with niches in construction, real estate, agribusiness, government, and others, recently moved their San Jose office from 100 W. San Fernando St to 60 S. Market St. The firm, headquartered northeast of Sacramento in Roseville, has been in operation since 1972. Marne Michaels, Senior Vice President with Colliers International, and Mike Mordaunt, Senior Vice President with CresaPartners, represented GALLINA LLP in the 81-month lease. The building, which is located at the corner of S. Market St and Post St in downtown San Jose, is comprised of 15 stories and totals 227k sf of Class A office space.
FREMONT (Santa Clara County) -- Corinthian College renewed its lease of a 65k sf, single-story building located at 420 Whitney Place, situated between Interstates 880 and 680 in the city’s southern area. Jim Kovaleski, Danny Yu and Tom McMullan with Cassidy Turley BT Commercial’s San Jose and San Francisco offices represented the property owner, Kirch-Metro Company LLC.
SAN MATEO (San Mateo County) -- Greenplum Inc signed an expansion/renewal lease for a total of 31.6k sf of Class A office space at The Atrium, located at 1900 South Norfolk St. Greenplum Inc was acquired by EMC in mid 2010, becoming the foundation of EMC’s Data Computing Division. Greenplum has grown its occupancy more than sixfold within the building since first moving in mid-2006. Ben Paul, Mike Moran and Pat Yeager with Cassidy Turley BT Commercial Burlingame represented the landlord, Prometheus Real Estate Group, in the transaction.
