Lowe Property Group has broken ground on 6th & Main, a 284k sf mixed-use development in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. The eight-story structure will include 10.1k sf of commercial space and 141.1k sf of residential apartments.
The project, designed by MVE + Partners, will revitalize the downtown region and infuse a new level of sophisticated urban living. 6th & Main will open for leasing in Fall 2022. Zwick Construction was selected as the general contractor for the project.
Situated at the gateway of downtown, 6th & Main will feature prime ground-floor commercial uses and much-anticipated community conveniences. Key amenities include a two-level fitness center and rooftop clubroom and viewing terrace that will be oriented at the focal corner of 600 South and Main Street to create visual appeal from the street level. These community spaces will also be positioned to complement the iconic massing of the adjacent Grand America – the city’s largest hotel – providing an incredible framed view of the building and downtown skyline.
The 170-unit residential community will include a mix of modern studio, one- and two-bedroom market-rate apartments for young professionals and small families. Additional resident offerings include a street level lounge, co-working space, parking garage, a fitness center and pool and spa. A centralized community, 6th & Main is located within minutes from Interstates 15 and 80, and within walking distance of Salt Lake’s eclectic shopping and vibrant nightlife scene.
“With Grand America, Little America, and the currently under construction 650 Main office tower on the adjacent corners, as well as a new TRAX stop coming in adjacent to 6th & Main, we believe that the intersection of 600 South and Main Street will soon be one of the most desirable intersections in Salt Lake City,” noted Ben Lowe at Lowe Property Group.
Boasting a modern, urban design 6th & Main will include natural materials, exposed concrete and contemporary design features that appeal to young professionals and apartment dwellers. MVE will also design the interior spaces of the project.
In addition to 6th & Main, MVE is working with Lowe Property Group on several other revitalizing mixed-use projects in Salt Lake City, including Sugar Alley, an eight-story, mixed-use community in the Sugar House District; Post House Apartments, consisting of five buildings featuring 580 residential units, and Dixon Place, a boutique, 59-unit, mixed-use property slated for completion in 2021.
