Kurve on Wilshire, a $300 mil, 23-story residential tower development located in the 2900 block of Wilshire in L.A.’s Mid-Wilshire area, had its topping out celebration last week and is on schedule to open in the spring of 2021. The project is a development of Hankey Investment Company LP and Jamison Properties LP.
Located on the corner of Wilshire Blvd and Hoover St, the project is conveniently located a few blocks east of the Los Angeles Metro Red Line stop at the corner of Vermont Ave and Wilshire Blvd. It is adjacent to both the city’s downtown and Koreatown areas. The unusual curved design of the 23-story tower creates a unique footprint specifically designed to avoid casting shade on the nearby parks.
The 644-unit residential tower sits on top of a six-story podium housing the building’s parking garage, which will accommodate 1,100 automobiles. A one-acre park and amenity deck will top the podium. Common area amenities include a fitness center, clubhouse, pool, spa, business center, private open-air dining areas, BBQs, firepits, dog park, zen garden and a viewing deck of the downtown LA skyline all to provide a respite from city life.
Apartment homes will range from studios to three-bedroom, two-story penthouses each with their own sky yard and spa. Rents are expected to start in the $2,200 a month range and up.
The project will also include 15k sf of prime street-level retail catering to residents, locals and Koreatown visitors, which is expected to bring additional vibrancy to the vicinity. Retail tenants for 2900 Wilshire have not yet been announced.
Project consultants include Large Architecture, lead architect; Dianna Wong Architecture + Interior Design, interior design; and a joint venture construction team consisting of AECOM and Wilshire Construction.
