This spectacular aerial image of downtown Los Angeles was taken one week ago, November 4, by Fred Emmert of Air Views, out of Orange County. You can see the current state of construction on the Wilshire Grand tower, in the center of the image.

When complete, the Wilshire Grand tower will rise 73 stories and will contain roughly 1.7 msf of space, including a 900-room hotel, 400k sf of office space and 45k sf of retail space. The landmark high-rise is being built by Korean Airlines at a cost of over $1 bil.
This major development has been the subject of considerable news coverage, including an exciting video program we produced on the project earlier in the year. You can watch the program from the RENTV video news programs menu on the home page of our site, at www.rentv.com.
Also visible at the very bottom edge of the image is part of the site of the Metropolis development, the residential mega-project being built by Chinese developer Greenland USA in South Park. Located at Francisco and 8th Streets, the project’s first phase will consist of a condo tower with over 300 units and a hotel. The site appears as the upper portion a big pile of dirt, cut off at the lower edge of the photograph.
