A new upscale multifamily development is bringing new life to Westwood Village and is expected to spark additional interest in this desirable mixed-use area in West LA, situated adjacent to the UCLA campus. The project, Palazzo Westwood Village, is located at 1060 Glendon Ave, in the heart of the Village, and also includes ground floor retail, anchored by Trader Joe’s, and more than 1,200 parking spaces.
Palazzo Westwood Village’s 350 rental homes, which offer a very high level of lifestyle amenities, city and courtyard views and superior appointments, are already leasing and are expected to be completely full by year end. Residents have already moved into the first two-story townhomes, featuring wrap-around terraces, great downtown views and up to three bedrooms.
Topflight retailers have signed on for most of the commercial space along Glendon Ave. Along with Trader Joe’s, at the corner at Glendon and Weyburn, other signed tenants include: Rite Aid; Pastagina, an Italian restaurant with al fresco dining; Jersey Mike’s Subs; and It’s a Grind coffee, all of which are expected to open by this summer.
Created by Casden Properties, Palazzo Westwood Village embraces the architectural tradition of Westwood with its distinctive towers at the Weyburn Ave corners and its Spanish revival design. It revitalizes the original Spanish Colonial architecture of the village environment and is within easy walking distance of Westwood’s wide range of shopping, movie theatres, popular restaurants, and world class museum, university and medical center.
The project gracefully integrates the historic Glendon Manor. This revitalized landmark houses two-story townhomes on its upper level as well as a spa and fitness center on the first floor.
The Alhambra, the famous Moorish palace in Granada, Spain, is the inspiration for Palazzo Westwood’s gardens and fountains. Each courtyard has its own carefully designed personality and together they make a journey of discovery through the grounds. Seven lavishly hand-painted tiled fountains are the centerpieces of the courtyards.
Palazzo Westwood’s rental homes all offer gourmet kitchens with hardwood floors, fireplaces, high ceilings and large terraces. Residents have gated access to the project. An additional 500 parking spaces are available for retail tenants and public use.
The resort style living includes an infinity pool and spacious private sun deck, health spa and club, and concierge service to help with everything from theatre tickets and car service to birthday gifts and dog walking. The fitness center equals any resort with the finest customized equipment including exceptional cardio machines. There’s also a 30-foot rock climbing wall, a weight room and exercise studio, and daily classes that include yoga, pilates and spinning. Men’s and women’s steam rooms, saunas, showers and changing areas are equipped with luxurious fittings and furnishings. A comfortable lounge with a 65-inch plasma screen completes the spa.
