Greg Wattson: Opus West Corp has named Greg Wattson Vice President of retail development for the firm’s six-state western region. In his new role, Wattson will pursue and implement new retail development opportunities throughout Southern California as well as coordinate with Minnesota-based parent company Opus Corporation on national retail development strategy.
Based in Opus West’s Irvine office, Wattson will also oversee all existing retail projects in the area, including The Shoppes at Chino Hills, a 400k sf lifestyle center, and The Commons at Chino Hills, a 500k sf power center – both being developed by Opus West in Chino Hills.
Wattson brings 20 years of experience in retail development to his new position. Most recently, Wattson was Senior Vice President of retail for Trammell Crow Company, where he was responsible for retail development activities in the western United States. His background also includes 18 years at Wattson Brevast, where he developed and re-positioned retail projects throughout the West Coast, including premier projects such as The Shops at Tanforan, a 1 msf regional mall in San Bruno, and FireCreek Crossing, a 600k sf power center in Rancho Cucamonga.
Lisa Hoeck: Lisa Hoeck has been appointed the new Managing Director for CB Richard Ellis’ Temecula office. Hoeck joined CB Richard Ellis in 2003 as a lease administrator for The Titan Corporation. She quickly advanced as an associate for Brokerage Services where she focused on major business park and land sales. With senior partners Rick Sparks and Chris Pascale, Hoeck worked on major land transactions including Bressi Ranch in Carlsbad, RiverView at Santee and Eastlake Business Center.
Most recently, Hoeck was the Senior Director of the CB Richard Ellis Private Client Group, where she was responsible for the coordination of the Private Client Group’s investment activities, increasing national market share, team development, retention of key sales professionals, marketing and general operations with over 80 teams in 50 markets across the United States. Prior to joining CB Richard Ellis, Hoeck was a Property Manager at Dowling Properties in Davis, where she managed a portfolio of 73 residential and commercial properties.
Joshua L. Bauder:Joshua L. Bauder has joined the law firm of Pircher, Nichols & Meeks as an Associate in the real estate department. Based in the Los Angeles office, Bauder will specialize in various aspects of property transactions such as acquisitions, sales and financing. Prior to joining Pircher, Nichols & Meeks, Bauder gained experience as a law clerk at Greeberg & Weinmann in Los Angeles, where he drafted motions for employment law cases, helped with the production of documents, continuances, letters and memoranda.
Kevin T. Fryman: Kevin T. Fryman has been promoted from Senior Associate to Vice President at Hanley Investment Group. A retail sales veteran, Fryman has closed over 30 sales transactions totaling more than $100 mil throughout Southern California and the western United States. In the past year, Fryman closed transactions such as Lompoc Corners in Lompoc for $16.1 mil, Cruse Crossing in Lawrenceville, GA for $12 mil, Archibald’s Plaza in Ontario for $7.38 mil, and Zitny Plaza in Garden Grove for $3.79 mil. In 2006, Fryman’s hard work earned him Hanley Investment Group’s prestigious “Iron-Man Award” for successfully closing the most challenging and complex transaction of the year.
Fryman is a candidate to become a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), has a professional affiliation with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and is a member of ICSC Next Generation.
Jeffrey H. Hopkins: Jeffrey H. Hopkins has been promoted from Development Manager/Senior Leasing Manager to Vice President of Leasing at Hopkins Real Estate Group (HREG). Hopkins, a seven-year HREG team member, will be responsible for the oversight of leasing activities for existing centers and new developments as well as tenant relationships, retail tenant mix/merchandising strategy for projects, marketing programs, and tenant coordination during construction. Prior to being named Vice President of leasing, his responsibilities for HREG included all phases of project development, from the acquisition and entitlement phase through completion and center operations. Prior to joining Hopkins Real Estate Group, Hopkins was with CB Richard Ellis, where he specialized in tenant representation on the office side.
Dave West: Dave West of Snyder Langston has been named Superintendent of the Year by the American Subcontractors Association Los Angeles/Orange County Chapter. Presented at the organization’s 10th Annual Awards Banquet, the award commemorates West’s ability to uphold the interest and safety of subcontractors. The American Subcontractors Association Inc is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit national trade association with memberships consisting of subcontractors, specialty trade contractors and suppliers.
Mel Tan: Mel Tan has been promoted from Lead Design Architect, to Associate Partner at MVE Institutional, an affiliate of MVE & Partners. Tan has been part of the MVE & Partners team since 2001, and joined MVE Institutional in 2005. Since then he has designed for school districts, colleges, universities and religious institutions in Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego and Riverside, among other regions.
Not only has Tan played a key role in the development of the MVE Institutional group, he has also helped build lasting relationships with institutional clients, such as California Baptist University, Tustin Unified School District and various California State Universities.
