The Port of Everett has purchased the 58.43-acre Kimberly-Clark mill property on the Everett waterfront in Everett, WA. The property was acquired from Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, along with another Kimberly-Clark-owned site north of the mill property.
The site includes a 360k sf warehouse and has over 2,500 lineal feet of waterfront on the East Waterway, which opens to the Puget Sound south of the Kimberly-Clark property. The sale property is located between the Port of Everett terminal and Naval Station Everett, a federally secure maritime complex and major Snohomish County employer, with 2,900 employees.
Kimberly-Clark, a worldwide consumer products manufacturer, closed the former pulp mill located on this site in 2012 and decided to market the property for sale. In July of this year, the City of Everett sold the north portion of the property; therefore, this sale to the Port of Everett represents the remaining Kimberly-Clark Everett waterfront holdings.
Three-quarters of the property will be developed for maritime use, and the rest will be used for aquatic management and public access.
Dave Speers and Matt Henn with Kidder Mathews, along with Eric Dienstbach of Binswanger, represented Kimberly-Clark in the transaction.
